Peace

February 24, 2014

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.–John 14:27

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.–Philippians 4:7

I am in need of peace. I need an untroubled heart. I need a mind that is guarded against worry. But I realized, or maybe remembered, something today. I can’t create peace. I can’t even find it. I can’t catch it. I can’t hold on to it. I can’t control it.

Peace is a gift. It is given as a gift to be simply received. Peace is a ray of sunlight. I can feel it, I can absorb it. I can be grateful for it.

I invite you to stop for just a moment today and allow God’s peace to soak in.
